Lot Trait Moods

This adds a selection of lot traits to the (base)game that determine the mood sims are in on that lot. I have separated these in two packages, Positive and Negative, so you can pick what you want to use or not.

Positive Moods:
  • Happy
  • Confident
  • Energized
  • Focused
  • Flirty
  • Playful
  • Inspired

Negative Moods:
  • Angry
  • Bored
  • Sad
  • Tense
  • Uncomfortable

  • Each lot trait gives a +3 ambient buff of the specified mood to the sims on that lot
  • Lot traits are a weak interaction compared to sim traits and object interactions, so those may override the moods. (eg. a sim that is "Never Tense", will not be tense in a tense lot)
  • Negative moods are weaker then positive ones. (eg. An inspired lot trait will be fairly persistent, while an uncomfortable lot trait gets overridden quite quickly.)
  • Moods "stack", so you can assign multiple of these lot traits to one lot.

In all however, it allows for sadness at cemeteries, inspirational museums or simply a happy home.

Feel free to expand and improve on this if you want to, just don't claim you made it.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the File tab to see the download link. Click the link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
Read the upload description for installation instructions. If nothing else is specified, do the following:
No Extraction Required (Script Mods):
1. Cut and paste the .zip file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
Script mods need to be placed directly in \Mods or one level below that (e.g. \Mods\Scripts) – sub-folders nested any deeper won’t work.
Extraction Required (Everything Else):
1. Use WinRAR (Windows) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
2. Cut and paste the .package file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\

Need more information?
  • Anyone can use both .rar and .zip files easily! On Windows, use WinRAR.
  • If you don't have a Mods folder, just make one.
  • Mod still not working? Make sure you have script mods enabled

As he mentioned though: there is no scared mood, so it cannot be assigned. Closest you could get to it is tense or uncomfortable.

For example, I am building my entire world around the wizarding world of Harry Potter. If I have sims that do not have a Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Hogwarts staff traits then sims are not able to go.

That would be tricky, as lot traits only come into effect once a sim enters the lot (so it would be too late to stop them from doing so)

I suggest you look into the "lock door for" interactions and see if you can add a category for wizards only to enter. Or perhaps add custom doors that can only be interacted with by trait.

Not sure if it's bad etiquette to suggest things, but would you consider a similar lot trait that allows for an increase in the number of people that can be on a lot? If that's doable and something that appeals to you to do! Sometimes I want certain venues to have bigger crowds (up to 40 or 50 maybe), and would love to do that on a lot-by-lot basis.

I do something similar but i rise the money in household for rich club requisite from 30000 to 150000 but only work with club gathering and not in lot which i want and could be better.

LotTraits are applied to sims when those sims enter the lot. As such they cannot be used to change lot features like that, or restrict who comes there. Very maybe one may send a sim away if their household isn't rich enough.

For what you want a method may be to create different residential venue types, but Ii personally haven't been successful in creating those yet. Perhaps ask Zerbu (=lot master) ?
